Ferrari has revealed the Superamerica 45, a one-off version of the Ferrari 599, which is all set to make its first public appearance at the upcoming Villa d’Este Concours in Italy.
Exclusively built for Peter Kalikow, New York collector and the president of a real estate firm, the Superamerica 45 has been so named to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Kalikow’s firstFerrari car- a
second-hand 400 Superamerica convertible. Based on the 599 GTB Fiorano, the car owes its full design credit to Ferrari Design and has been engineered and manufactured in-house by the automaker.
The bespoke design features include a new carbon-fiber rotating hard top with a rear screen, a unique chrome front grille, special burnished aluminium A-pillars, wing mirrors and body colored alloy wheels with diamond finish for the spokes. The paintwork is done in Blu Antille- a shade borrowed from Kalikow’s 1961 400 Superamerica cabriolet- with a contrasting darker blue shade used for the carbon-fiber parts like the roof, front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser. The cockpit takes over the dark blue theme from there on with Blu Scuro carbonfiber detailing and an advanced touch-screen infotainment system, while the rest of the interior is splashed with Cuoio leather.
Ferrari has kept mostly mum about the technical specs of the Superamerica 45, except for the little titbit about it taking cues from the SA Aperta and the 575 Superamerica. We will see more of the car when it is finally unveiled this weekend at the Villa d’Este Concours.
