5 perfect cars for the apocalypse

On this, the day that some believe will mark the apocalypse, there may only be a few hours left to own the car of your dreams. We recommend you buy on credit, not cash.
But what to get? If you're going to go out in style, you want the perfect doomsday drive. Here's our top 5:

  • Ferrari F430. You'll have to prowl the pre-owned lot for one, but it's well worth it. They went out of production a couple years ago, replaced by the 458. We got to take an F430 for a spin around a speedway a couple years and we couldn't have been more impressed at its quickness and agility. Of course, the big drawback on Ferraris is their maintenance schedules, but with the last day upon us, not a lot of worry about that.
  • Rolls-Royce Ghost. The Phantom is just too big and showy, so for a grand sedan for those who want to travel in style aned comfort for their final hours, it's hard to beat a Ghost. Nothing but the best here. Silky-smooth ride. Utter silence to ponder your past misdeeds. And a pricetag around $300,000.
  • Ford Mustang. We love the Mustang. It was our first car. Sure, it's hard to see it on the list after a Ferrari and a Rolls, but the Mustang is everything you love (or should we say "loved") about America. Get the V-8, a smokin' hot engine and take the car out to a burger stand. Perfect place for a last meal.
  • Lexus LFA. This car represents the best that Japan has, or ever did, have to offer in a sports car. You just want to admire its racy looks and drink in its 552 horsepower, all for about $375,000. Go out in style.
  • Mini Cooper. If you're credit rating isn't looking so strong, you can always get a Mini. Don't opt for the bigger models, just stick with the original. With its sharp styling and the wheels pushed to the edges of the car, you'll appreciate its terrific handling.
