Volkswagen Caddy Racer Makes Racing Debut

After the qualifying session, the number 33 RAC-liveried Caddy started the Race 1 in 15th place, being manhandled by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles UK Director, Simon Elliott. Eliott fought hard, but the competition was strong and thus he crossed the line in 11th place, which would be his grid spot for the following race.
By the first corner, Eliott moved up to eighth position, but an incident caused by a driver further ahead stopped his progress, with the driver avoiding action, which caused him to lose position.

The new Caddy Racer is powered by a 2.0-liter petrol unit delivering 270 hp, with the power being sent to the front axle via a six-speed VW RAcing quick sift gearbox. In addition to that, the rear axle has been borrowed from the road incarnation of the Golf.
