For those who want a little more oomph in their midsize car, Chrysler is going to make a hot R/T version of the Dodge Avenger.
The little car will get a 283-horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 engine that gets 19 miles per gallon in the city, 29 mpg on the highway. It also has a center-mounted tachometer and performance-inspired interior and distinctive exterior.
"The Avenger R/T makes driving a mid-size car a really fun, engaging experience," said Ralph Gilles, Dodge's CEO. "The Avenger R/T offers performance design cues both inside and out, as well as unique handling characteristics and a sport-tuned suspension."
That suspention will be 18% stiffer than the usual.
