The guy knows what he is doing, as he has built huge action figures, a Gundam robot, a replica oh what looks like his head and an Audi R8 for Forza Motorsport 3, so he is just the man for the job.
The project all started with 285 clean sheets of paper. Using photos and drawings plus a bit of computer skills, he designed 750 model pieces out of card stock, which he then printed, folded and glued together. A laser printer was involved, as were two desktop cutting plotters, glue and an X-ACTO knife.
What’s amazing is that the video we are showing you below is only 3 minutes long, but the actual process took more than 245 hours later. It all start out with the wheels, and you can see all the painstaking efforts that went into all those spokes. We bet he wished that Audi had chosen a less intricate design than that.
Then comes the body, interior, seats, dash, a central column, steering wheel, instrument cluster and an appropriately sized... Gundam RX-78 robot used as a driver stand-in.
