The Japanese based automaker Nissan will drop the four-cylinder engine on the Micra in Australia for the 2013 model year.
According to the car manufacturer, all versions of the Nissan Micra in Australia, in the 2013 model year, will be powered by the 1.2 liter three-cylinder petrol engine, producing a total output of 56 kW and 100 Nm of torque. The loss in power will also mean an improved fuel consumption and, when equipped with the five-speed automatic transmission, the Micra will burn just 5.9 liters of fuel every 100 km, compared to the 6.5 liter / 100 km with the 1.5 liter engine.
With the four-speed automatic transmission, the fuel consumption in the new 1.2 liter 2013 Micra will stay at 6.5 liters / 100 km. Despite the four-cylinder unit has been dropped from the 2013 lineup in the Micra, Nissan isn’t cutting the price of the model in Australia and, in fact, the pricing will remain unchanged for the 2013 model year.
